Competition Team

Being a Mary Alice's competition dancer is a great opportunity to develop your technique and build your confidence, while making life long friendships. To be a part of these groups, you are required to audition before our season begins. This level of training requires a more serious time commitment, usually 2-3 evenings a week. Our Competition Company & Team attend one local competition & convention. The Company attends several regional conventions and competitions. This summer, our Company will attend a national convention/competition. MADS competition dancers are our studio role models. They are involved in charitable community events and are also excellent, well-organized students.

Dance Competition Levels

MADS Competition Dancers train in 7 different levels under 2 categories, Team & Company.

Novice

Ages 6-7, dancers take tap, jazz, & ballet.  An excellent introduction to the competition community and team atmosphere. A great place to start!

Pre-Petite

Ages 7-8, dancers take 4 classes a week. It's an excellent introduction to the competition community and team atmosphere.

Junior

Ages 11-13, these dancers take on additional intermediate technique classes and are offered hip-hop, acro and lyrical. This team travels to a National Competition in the summer.

Teen

Ages 13+, teen dancers train at an intermediate/advanced level and make the commitment to a National Competition in the summer.

Senior

Ages 14+, this is our most advanced level. Senior dancers not only make the commitment to participate in more conventions and a National Competition, many of them spend their summers in intensives and workshops to continue their training year round.

...and beyond

MADS Competition Dancers go on to pursue extremely successful careers, on and off the stage! We are so proud of our alumni who have followed their passion to obtaining degrees in dance, and can now be seen teaching and choreographing, with the Radio City Rockettes, and performing on cruise ships and variety shows all over the world!
